With the question marks on offense, losing leaders like Corum, JJ, and Sainristil, and a murderous schedule, I see 8-4 or 9-3. No playoff.

I'm all for deception—IMHO one of the reasons Schembechler's teams so consistently failed in bowl games was because they were so damn predictable and straight-ahead on offense—but the Mad Magicians were at another level. I occasionally watch films of the '47 team and still have trouble following where in hell the ball is.

I think successful deception in 2024 would be in the form of play design rather than tricky ball handling per se, and I guess that is what you were referring to.

LOL  If you seriously…

LOL  There's no way this 2024 team has the capability to carry out the sleight of hand stuff the 1947 team pulled off.

It boggles the mind that the food at official UM events—most prominently athletic events—is frequently so substandard. You'd think that an athletic department with our resources could figure out a way to get decent grub in the mouths of the paying customers.

because he's on the board of a crypto company and this speaker is big into crypto is the new piece of news I haven't seen on this board yet.

Not that it was any great piece of insight on my part—I mean it was pretty easy to deduce—but I made this exact assertion here a couple of days ago.

I thought having former OSU President Gordon Gee say he hoped he wouldn't be fired by Jim Tressel was as ridiculous as it could get, but the new OSU prexie said "hold my beer"

There was apparently a good deal of consternation amongst OSU students and alumni over how in the fuck this nitwit Pan was chosen, and it's pretty obvious to me that it was because the president of OSU is a bitcoin shill, and he asserted his influence to get his fellow bitcoin shill the speaker gig.

Once upon a time, famous entrepreneurs got famous for creating businesses that created or provided tangible goods and services with actual value. "Social entrepreneur" is basically snake oil vaporware.

Having said that, I've never attended a commencement that wasn't an incredibly boring affair, with the speech being the worst part. That includes my own HS commencement and my first U-M degree commencement (speech by Walter Mondale zzzzz), my daughter's HS commencement, my nephew's U-M commencement (speech by Michael Bloomberg zzzzz), and my ex-SIL's commencement. I didn't bother attending commencement for my second U-M degree, and my daughter had no interest in attending commencement for her degree from Wisconsin, which I was thankful for.

"two time Joe Moore winner…

"two time Joe Moore winner has most linemen in the NFL"

Sherrone is obviously an excellent OL coach, but Glasgow, Onwenu, Ruiz, Mayfield, Runyan, and Bredeson did not have Moore as their OL coach.

The correct statement is: "Michigan, whose head coach Sherrone Moore is a two-time winner of the Joe Moore Award, has the most offensive linemen in the NFL."

"you need NFL 3.0 missing…

"you need NFL 3.0 missing like 10 guys"

Going solely from the title, I assumed initially that it was referring to some NFL-based video game whose third iteration was buggy and incomplete.

Groats (or in some cases, …

Groats (or in some cases, "berries") are the hulled kernels of various cereal grains, such as oat, wheat, rye, and barley. Groats are whole grains that include the cereal germ and fiber-rich bran portion of the grain, as well as the endosperm (which is the usual product of milling).

Groats can also be produced from pseudocereal seeds such as buckwheat.

Culinary uses
Groats are nutritious but can be difficult to chew, so they are often soaked before cooking. Groats are used as an ingredient in soup, porridge, bread, and vegetable-based milk.

Groats of many cereals are the basis of kasha, a porridge-like staple meal of Eastern Europe and Eurasia. In North America kasha or kashi usually refers to roasted buckwheat groats in particular.

In North India, cut or coarsely ground wheat groats are known as dalia and are commonly prepared with milk into a sweet porridge or with vegetables and spices into salty preparations.

In Yemen, boiled groats are eaten as a hot breakfast cereal, known as harish, and topped with clarified butter (samneh), or with honey. In Palestine and Syria, the same dish is known locally as ğarīš which may also refer to the farinaceous dish of semolina.

Parboiled and cut durum wheat groats, known as bulgur, are an essential ingredient of many Middle Eastern dishes such as mansaf and tabbouleh.

Groats are also used in some sausages, such as black puddings. A traditional dish from the Black Country in England is groaty pudding (not to be confused with groats pudding). Groaty pudding is made from soaked groats, leeks, onions, beef, and beef stock, and baked up to 16 hours; it is a traditional meal on Guy Fawkes Night.

Sliced oat groats are known as steel-cut oats, pinhead oats, coarse or Irish oatmeal.

Coarse barley flour is made by milling barley groats.

One thing the portal and NIL craziness has done is to put a final stake in the notion that anything more than a tiny, tiny percentage of players prioritize getting an education at any particular school, whether it's Michigan or some other institution. The quality and specific nature of the education they get is far down the list of the things that actually determine their decisions, and I think it's actually been that way for a long time.
