Great to hear! Cornerback Dawayne Galloway, out of Columbus, Ohio, also got CBd to Michigan. Galloway is 6-foot-1, 175 pounds, and ranked 96th overall in the 2025 class according to the 247 Sports composite rankings. Galloway is the fifth-best recruit in the state of Ohio as well.

Anyone else having a mental issue trying to separate the now-“National Analyst” Tom Loy from the previous “complete and utter Notre Dame homer” Tom Loy?!?
.

.

I guess he got promoted with Wing Ding moving to On3.

From the recruiting board:

This was already going to be a Michigan-Ohio State showdown before Michigan took Ohio State's RB coach. The CA 4* Jordon Davison recruitment is going down like a 5-star battle, and both want OH 4* Marquise Davis to be the 2nd guy in the class. Also there's a Bo Jackson Jr. out there. Michigan was already prying Jamario Parker out of Arkansas's class, and Hart really liked Iverson Howard so there are options if OSU wins either of those recruitments.

We have also recently expanded the RB board with an offer to 3* Jasper Parker.

Our look is toughness and running the football, I love it! Can’t wait, I see Orji scoring our first TD this year!

I love getting kids from  Ohio and it is almost better when they don’t have an OSU offer because that fuels the hell out of them in the Game.

There’s been a rumor that the Buckeyes “assume” a thing or two.   First, they recruit nationally - and if there’s a five star out-of-state, and a four star in-state - they’ll target the five star with an assumption that - if the five star doesn’t commit, the in-state four star will automatically accept an OSU even if it’s at the eleventh hour.

So, NIL can influence this - but, it seems some of these talented players in Ohio don’t like being ignored - and, taken for granted - that they’ll immediately accept an offer from the Buckeyes even if it’s at the last minute.

Oh, there’s that little “development” thing too…. And, the last three games may have made an impression too.

He probably broke down the spring games and was like, two had touch isn't for me.

Come on up north, Marquise!  We use the whole alphabet in Michigan, and are not afraid to use the word Ohio.

OSU put him on the back burner so they could chase Jordan Davison. It would be hilarious if he decides to stay home and play for USC or goes to the SEC. Then they’ll be left with their third choice.
I think Ryan Day really struggles with player evaluation and development. Example, he went prioritized McCord over McCarthy, Henderson over Edwards, some TE that may not even be on their team over Luke Lachey (who was not only a legacy, but his dad does the color commentary for their radio coverage - how don’t you offer that guy?) and probably many more that I don’t know about. I’m not saying they would’ve landed any of those guys, but he picked the wrong guy to prioritize every time. It’s a good sign that he selected Davison over Davis. It’s practically a guarantee that Davis will be great.

I dont think he prioritized McCord over McCarthy. He had McCarthy visit first and pressured him to commit and JJ said he got a weird vibe and wanted to think it over. So Day took McCords commitment because he is lazy and didn’t want to fight for McCarthy. He mostly has this attitude of “I’m doing you a favor kid, so commit or gtfo”

JJ grew up a fan, yes. But he was never on the verge of going there based on his visit and getting a bad vibe from Day.
Somehow the internet has been retconned into believing the OSU beat’s version of events.

What I said is 100% what happened. Based both on insider articles at the time and also what JJs dad told someone I know on the huge discrepancy of the vibes they got on the visit from Day vs Harbaugh. I know we can’t we convince OSU fans, but we should stop repeating their made up version of events.

Edit: for further proof, this article from May 9, 2019, which is after his OSU visit but before his Michigan visit and before the story about “OSU said he couldn’t commit” came out.

I watched a YouTube video of the kid last night and all i can day is, "wow." He has wheels, and regularly out ran players that had the angle on him.  Despite the speed, he loves to run between the tackles.   He is the real deal Holyfield and i hope that we get him.

Lemme guess.....

  1. He wasn't a take for us, anyway.
  2. We got guys with more starzzzz so we never wanted him anyway.
  3. He's not tough enough for Ryan Day's culture

Either way, taking guys from Ohio has been very beneficial for us in the past. They're almost always the guys who step up their game big time whenever OSU comes around. Would be happy to have this kid on board.

That's EXACTLY what's happening LOL: https://www.elevenwarriors.com/forum/ohio-state-recruiting/2024/04/146867/class-of-2025-recruiting-news-part-27

And yes - love guys with a chip on their shoulder. A certain Michigan player, perhaps greatest football player of all-time, famously had a chip on his shoulder....It needs to the Michigan way now and forever.
