AJ Barner #121 to the Seahawks, 2 picks ahead of someone who picked the wrong school

Uh... I think I got it all pretty much into the thread title.

Hanging out with my osu buddy down here. He said “Cade stover just got drafted go bucks” to which I reply, “look at the 2 picks before. Sorry bud”

Not really. How about mentioning his consensus rank was 181? That’s way above where the experts had him. And wasn’t Stover an All American? Barner wasn’t even our best TE last year!

Great job AJ!!

Edit: Not All American, 1st team All Big Ten.

The Buckeyes new motto: Were Tough, but a day late and two picks short.

They are going to lose their mind (what little is left, that is) when Sherrone and a patched up offense beats them in November.

Its crazy Bucks fans and casual fans telling me the same shit they did back in 2020. At what point do they shut the fuck up? 9 losses in a row 12, 15? At what point do they stop celebrating their 5 star WRs and offseason championships. I mean we could lose but arent we kind of supposed to? Isnt a 1-3 record vs UM, in the last 4, still a absolute shit show and waste of talent from their coaches? I dunno everyone will expect them to win until they finally do no matter what the number is I guess.

I confess that I was mildly surprised that Stover didn't go a bit higher.  He was a productive tight end (against teams not named Michigan).

I guess there is a reason no one wants to pay me to evaluate football talent.

Go AJ!  Go Blue!

Just a quick look into the other side of things. Being from the specific area of Ohio, from which Stover hails, he was never going anywhere but osu, so the phrase "picked the wrong school" might not be the most accurate. He got to live out his dream at osu and playing there brought a lot of excitement to people in mid-Ohio. Did he experience the amount of success he might have anticipated? Thankfully, for us, no. He's a really good and humble dude who proudly and successfully represented his hometown, and I hope he achieves great success in the NFL, which is less likely when Sainristil is opposite him.

Media types tried to hype Stover up and the guy just isn’t an NFL player.  It was media and why he was TE of the year over Loveland in the B1G…ask any coach in the country including cryin ryan who they’d rather have.

To Stover's credit, he did make some pretty heads-up plays in the 2023 game to partially makeup for getting posterized by Mikey in 2022.

There was unfortunately the 30 yd drag vs Rolder to set up their first TD, but he also (unlike Maerati Marg) handfought Barrett to prevent a likely INT and although I doubt he'd admit it, I suspect on the final Rod Moore drive, he made sure to drop a check down pass to him - which was smart because he woulda been tackled inbounds when they were out of timeouts.
