MSU Twitter melting down over Mangham visit to Michigan
The title says it all, the MSU Spartans, who have only had 1 winning season this decade, have been brutalized by the transfer portal. Now, this isn’t a surprise, MSU are born losers.
However, Jaden Mangham has a visit to Michigan this week. Prior MSU players, such as RJ Shelton (Their leading receiver during their 3-9 season) and Felton Davis (poor man’s version of Braylon Edwards) are attacking the Kid and their family.
It’s truly great to see this mediocre program continue to seethe in 5-7 life!
Affairs are in order
The fuck are you taking about? Apparently title says it all but description says even less.
Well, OP writes that former players are attacking Mangham on Twitter, so it is actually explained in the post, though it's not especially interesting or illuminating. But I found this article to be perhaps more emblematic of the Sparty attitude, in which the AI posing as an author says:
He was never a true Spartan.
He never cared about being at Michigan State. Nobody who actually wanted to be at Michigan State would ever even flirt with the idea of transferring to Michigan. I’m fine if someone wants to transfer and typically don’t have any negative feelings toward that player, but this is different for me. Mangham’s heart may have never been with Michigan State. I want players who bleed green and white, guys who would do anything for the program and university because they can’t imagine themselves anywhere else.
Totally reads like something that a totally real person would totally say. Totally.
I mean sounds exactly like half the people on this board when a recruit would pick Miami or if someone were to consider transferring to OSU.
AI has to get its content from somewhere. Its just kicking out the most common response. Haha.
Don’t you mean Kentucky
I too want to be an MSU grad who has mastered the art of asking ChatGPT to summarize my feelings
Oh, they'll get plenty of green and white blood for a long time to come. And deservedly.
I don't think we know that the guy is coming here, but the good news is that they continue to hemorrhage. MSU will be TOTALLY irrelevant in football for a lotta moons to come. They've already lost a decade, and NEBRASKA is now a bigger part of the Big Ten conversation; NORTHWESTERN is a bigger part of the Big Ten conversation than old brokedown MSU. And here come Washington, Oregon, USC, and UCLA.
As they say on the posters at the travel agent's: Fly Bolivian!
If you even visit Michigan, and I hope we get the kid, I would think there is no way you are returning to MSU.
Their portal losses have been brutal to a team without much talent.
Burn couches or die!
Imagine being at Michigan State, a place where 99% of students already applied to Michigan, and believing that none of them wish they were anywhere else.
What are you talking about? None of the Sparty dipshits I went to high school with wasted their time by applying to Michigan.
Really? Maybe 20 from my high school went there after being rejected by Michigan.
Maybe it's my perspective as someone who more or less failed out of Michigan State* and graduated from Michigan, but gloating isn't a great look. Having an athletic rivalry is one thing, disparaging folks for their academic potential and intellect something else. Michigan's reputation is worth more when we aren't dicks about it.
*Being an eighteen year old can be complicated
"I want players who bleed green and white, guys who would do anything for the program and university because they can’t imagine themselves anywhere else."
Anybody who can't imagine themselves anywhere else but State is by definition a loser.
Yea, would be really nice for OP to provide some sort of link or context, rather than just saying, "Hey, they're attacking him on twitter and it's really funny! Just trust me about how funny it is!"
I never understood the need for posters to say "Title says it all." to begin with. Just saying nothing would communicate that very sentiment which would require less typing and Captain Obvious imagery.
I understand even less the need to say that and then go on to say more, thus nullifying the point of the comment altogether.
I figure "Title says it all" is a defensive move, designed to fend off complaints.
Good luck with that.
Does "TLDR" work in this instance?
Couch burning is freaking awesome!!! Who cares about players?
Whether they are celebrating or angry it looks the same.
Win or lose, there will be couch burning in East Lansing.
Won, lose, draw, rain-out... Burn 'em all!
As I always used to tell my brother: At least we've got a university attached to our football program. Their egos are tied up solely in their sports. They got almost nothing else. (Okay, I like what they do with food systems development and analysis.) When your teams suck at MSU, it's not like you can return to class Monday with your head held high. It might well have been axed to pay some fat old governor's bonus.
"They got almost nothing else."
Well, Hidden Lake Gardens is very pretty that one week a year when the crab apples are in bloom.
What if the couch transfers to WVU?
This is the hero image on the wikipedia page for "Hobbesian"
Looks like Sparty graduation ceremonies went off as planned. Reception following at Jets Pizza I'd imagine. Should be able to fit all 20 in.
It’s a dual event. First part celebration party, second part job application filling out and submission.
Everything is fine...
Welcome Johnathon LLLLLLLLLLL Smith
Let it burn,baby!
Some links to tweets or examples would be nice. Title does not say it all.
Jaden, not Jaren. Jaren Mangham (RB) left MSU for Minnesota. Jaren’s brother Jaden (S) is the MSU DB visiting Michigan, Nebraska and OSU.
...is the MSU DB...
That abbreviation takes on a different meaning when referring to Staee.
It's Jaden by the way (Safety).
Jaren was a former MSU running back that transferred to Minnesota.
EDIT: Since I duplicated what MacGyver said, I'll give you puppies.
I just fixed it.
Your love for Groves knows no bounds. Go Barons, beat the Falcons!
Wanna hear something funny? In high school I was rooting for Seaholm against my own school. I don't regret it; my brother played varsity for the Mapes. But as soon as he graduated I felt I had to make up for lost cheering.
I knew our season would be rough when Andover lost to Groves in the first game of 1987. Sure enough, the Barons finished 0-9 that year. Winning doesn't come easy, even against Lahser, Groves and Seaholm, when your left guard is 6'0", 180lbs.
And what about the Moops in Trivial Pursuit?
They (the puppies) need to watch out for Kristi Noem. Run, puppies run!
this comment is number one with a bullet
Prior MSU players, such as RJ Shelton (Their leading receiver during their 3-9 season)
Is that kind of like being the summer school valedictorian?
