This has been a wonderful season regardless of the outcome of today's games. Coach Tholl took only one year to get us back to relevance. Next year we have some great Freshmen coming in and it should be an even better year in 2025.

The reason why coaches challenge if the runner leaves early is rather simple. By rule, if a runner leaves the bag before the ball leaves the pitcher's hand, the Umpire shall call "Dead Ball, No pitch, Runner is out". If the runner left early, there would be "no pitch" to the batter.
I am a Softball Coach but I occasionally Umpire a few games. I had this exact play happen to me in the State Finals game a few years ago in 16U. Bottom of the 7th, 2 outs, bases loaded, home team down by 2. Runner on first leaves early, I call "dead ball, runner out". The ball is pitched and the hitter hits a "home run". Most people thought it was a walk off but I immediately notify the home team coach who was furious. The plate Umpire called the umpires off the field since the game was over and we headed to the clubhouse. I stopped by the Game Official and notify him the game is over, visiting team wins. The fans really did not realize what happened and before I know it, I have the Home Team Coach running after me across the parking lot. Tough call but it was the right call. I watched a video of the play later in the day and there was no doubt the runner left early.
Correct. My guess is that the Committee would favor us over 'Nova. It really is a shame that we are the #3 seed as the B1G Tourney Champs but it is what it is.

If you remember, in 2021 Georgia and James Madison were both unranked and won their Supers to advance to the WS. GA received the 7th seed while JM received the 8th.
Let me also add that we "could" host if the #12 AR team loses their Regional too. AZ knocked them off earlier today. So if AZ wins their Regional, it is likely they will host. However, if Villanova wins that Regional, it is likely that we would host.

The contract guy quit soon after. I got teased for years for having a sexual harassment complaint from a 200# dude. I had to buy lunch for a year for the group

I work for a company with a plant just outside Knoxville. About 95% of the staff are UT Grads. They are still so very bitter. One staff member still has on her cubicle wall of a newspaper with the headline “Peyton was screwed” or something like that.
She bows to a shrine of UT and Peyton every morning before work. I’m not kidding either. I rock my M gear every time I go there and she tries to engage me. I just say “The best player won the award”. One of these days she will turn me into HR for some bullshit like “Peyton Harassment”.
We were on Sec 2. It was 95% Good Guys. We were so loud, the sidelines players and coaches were waving us to keep quiet. Great time, M people represented. I met Alumni from several Alumni Orgs from NY, NJ, PA, MD, DC, VA, and FL too.
