I'm worried that since…

I'm worried that since Mgoweather uses weather data that might be collected near the stadiums of our future opponents and uses that to predict the playing/tailgating conditions giving everyone on mgoblog a gameday advantage, this could be considered sign stealing. Will 11 Warriors hire a PI to investigate and lobby for sanctions against us?

Is any journalism being done…

Is any journalism being done?

I have some questions that I have not seen asked or answered in all the media coverage of this which seem like pretty standard journalistic fare.

For the NCAA:

  1. Is it typically that a "3rd Party" brings a complaint about a specific team?
  2. Is there any expectation that someone bringing a complaint needs to have some sort of standing or is anyone allowed to bring a complaint? (if so, I have a few theories I'd like to run by you all)
  3. What is the process for the NCAA to vet a 3rd party bringing a complaint?
  4. Has anyone ever been issued a violation for any aspect of this sign stealing rule in any sport?

For the "3rd Party"

  1. Who are you and how did you get my number?
  2. Who is paying you?
  3. Do you have Ryan Day's Venmo info?

There seems to be another story here about a coordinated effort to attack one particular team regardless of how the "signgate" bits actually turn out.

FWIW, I managed to watch the game on an iPad from France so Peacock at least managed an international detour. I actually enjoyed the moment when the announcer audio dropped out and I could watch a few plays with just the stadium noise. There should be a switch for that on every game.

It sounds like a Hutchinson…

It sounds like a Hutchinson creation is in the works. What would you all prefer, blue pants or maize pants?

I'm not sure she could or…

I'm not sure she could or would sell them. I imagine there would be a lot of issues with using UofM logs and such.

Indeed, I am that friend and…

Indeed, I am that friend and the cancer fight is ongoing. As it happens, I had to reschedule my wedding because I might have to do stem cell transplant which means I will have no immune system for about 6 months. I'm told this is not ideal for a large gathering.

Well, my friend was one of a small group who was able to travel on such short notice and she gave this to me as a wedding gift. So, not only is she a top-notch crafter, she's a solid human too.

Do you think we need an…

Do you think we need an Aidan Hutchinson one next?

Hopefully, some Ross School…

Hopefully, some Ross School graduate who did not spend too much time drinking sangria at Dominick's can correct me but some simple back of the napkin math here:

Let's say it costs $6, all in to produce the shirt. Let's double that to cover operating costs, etc. That means each sale produces $30 in revenue. Let's say M-Den takes $10 of that as profit, leaving $20 per shirt to distribute to the student athletes.

I'm guessing there are about 1,000 student athletes at any given time. So, for every 1,000 shirts they sell, each athlete gets $20.

They should have made them in Maize and sold them at the Washington Game. Each athlete could have had at least a grand in their pocket.

I'm probably missing something but sounds like a fine plan to me.

I'm a traditionalist:

I'm a traditionalist:

Turtlenecks and leather boots. Mustaches are optional but highly encouraged.

Did you have to pay Sony to…

Did you have to pay Sony to play “Across 110th Street” or did you just hire some North Korea hackers to hack their system?

Hopefully Eminem is…

Hopefully Eminem is available for the play by play.

I figured I'd pile on my gratitude for MGoBlog, Brian, Seth, and the entire MGoCrew. I've gone through cancer treatment twice since 2018 and obsessing about Michigan Football is my distraction from, you know, cancer. It does put things in proper perspective.

So thanks for building this unique corner of college football fandom. I've got a treatment on Friday but luckily I'll have HTTV and MGoBlog to pass the time.

Go Blue!

This is no time for…

This is no time for rationality.

I don't believe in UFOs or Sasquatch or Tim Tebow's MLB Career but I do believe, without evidence or reason, that The University of Michigan Football Team will win every game every time they play.

Regular Season , 12-0

Big Ten Champs, National Champs

Heck, they could win Wimbledon.

Go Blue!

My daily driver is Three Africas Blend from Blue Bottle Coffee, a Barratza Encore grinder, and an Aeropress. I do have a gooseneck kettle but decent water near boiling will do no matter how you get it there. I drink it black but if you do put milk in yours, just make sure it's whole milk not that wimpy 2% or skim stuff.

Welcome to the coffee rabbit hole, Alice!

Is that TacoPants on the…

Is that TacoPants on the poster? Does he get NIL money for that?

I believe challenge coins…

I believe challenge coins started in the US Military. If a service member produced his/her coin and you didn't have one, you had to buy the other guy or gal a drink.

I think we should make HTTV a challenge coin. If you're at the bar watching a game and you have your  HTTV with you and the other Wolverine doesn't, they buy you a drink.

This would, of course, not include the MGoStaff since you should always buy them a drink for producing HTTV.

Is this a clever social media campaign for Ted Lasso?

BTW, everyone should watch Ted Lasso.

Well, I like helmet stickers…

Well, I like helmet stickers and I like that they get creative with them. As a kid I always loved when a player came in with practically no stickers on their helmet during the first week and, by the end of the season, their helmet was full. As an 8-year old, that made perfect sense to me and, since I'm still pretty much an 8-year old at heart, more stickers please!

Does anyone know of a good…

Does anyone know of a good bar or restaurant on Martha’s Vineyard to watch Michigan Football games?

I think all these early NIL…

I think all these early NIL deals are, as many have already commented, just the same old bag man style deals now allowed out into the light. My hope for Michigan is that they are thinking long term.

I think these early big numbers will fade away once the folks forking over the money aren't seeing the ROI they expect, in their business or on the field. One good public flameout from a player you just payed a million dollars to appear on a billboard for your car dealership might convince the bag men to scurry back into the dark.

I’d buy that. Also make it a t-shirt and I’ll up my pledge.

How do I preorder the…

How do I preorder the preorder?

Whatever you decide, I'm in…

Whatever you decide, I'm in. I've got a nice series going on my bookshelf and I'm assuming having the complete series of Harbaugh Era HTTV will fetch more on the collector's market. I'm still holding on to my complete collection of Garbage Pail Kids. I'm gonna make a fortune.

If Michigan makes it into…

If Michigan makes it into the playoff with this schedule, they'd have to be the favorite to win. They will have run through great defenses and great offenses and also Rutgers. Even with one close loss during the season, I'd say Desmond gets bragging rights for next year.
