Super Early ESPN 2025 Mock Draft ($)
This is paywalled, but it’s ESPN, so here’s the relevant info:
- 7 - Will Johnson to Arizona
- 8 - Mason Graham to Minnesota
- 22 - Colston Loveland to Miami
- 31 - Kenneth Grant to KC
I know these mocks mean nothing, but still, it’s good to see four Wolverines projected in the first round!
That'd be great for Will, he can blanket Marvin at practice, just like their days in college
I wouldn't call 5 for 118 yards with 1 TD getting blanketed. Both won some and both lost some. That's the reality of both elite prospects
Will didn't play the entire 2nd half of the game...WHILE he was on the field, Harrison Jr was essentially shut down and was even nice enough to let Will Johnson run his route for him and get an INT
Marvin Harrison got 27 yards, 44 yards and 11 yards on Will Johnson. That's 82 against Will Johnson including the DPI. Will Johnson won some battles including the INT. Even when Will Johnson lined up across him, Michigan regularly rotate the coverage towards Marvin Harrison Jr because he's a huge threat on the offense which is the correct game plan.
You didn't actually watch that football game, did you?
I did. Marvin Harrison got 27 yards, 44 yards and 11 yards on Will Johnson. That's 82 against Will Johnson including the DPI. Will Johnson won some battles including the INT. Even when Will Johnson lined up across him, Michigan regularly rotated the coverage towards Marvin Harrison Jr because he's a huge threat on the offense which is the correct game plan.
THERE YOU GO WITH THAT WHOLE "TRUTH" THING AGAIN.
What on Gods green earth are you thinking? :0)
Stat watcher, non-ball knower confirmed. Pull up the tape. You also curiously left out the pick Will had that changed the game and for which Harrison did not battle. WJ put the clamps on him in 2022 too, the long touchdown was a poorly conceived safety blitz.
Marvin "Alligator" Harrison wouldnt compete for the first catch because he acted a bitch and was afraid of getting hit.
BUT HE IS TOUGH
Marvin Harrison got 27 yards, 44 yards and 11 yards on Will Johnson. That's 82 against Will Johnson including the DPI. Will Johnson won some battles including the INT. Even when Will Johnson lined up across him, Michigan regularly rotated the coverage towards Marvin Harrison Jr because he's a huge threat on the offense which is the correct game plan.
Remember Maserati's alligator arms on the first INT?? He was so "tough" as Lou Holtz told us.
HAHA
HOW DARE YOU SPEAK THE TRUTH! YOU SHOULD KNOW THAT IS FORBIDDEN HERE. FML.
Mason and JJ. Two of my favorites. Get Sainristil traded there and it's hard not to be Viking fan. Will and MJH matching up in practice would be fire in the desert for that team.
I bet Grant ends up higher after the season.
I think we all know his Heisman win will get him in the top 6. We just dont want to say it out loud because some accuse us of arrogance.
I've seen some with Moore and Edwards moving up as well, this defense could be really nice if the O can do it's part.
Super early 2025 NFL mock by the Athletic highlights:
#3 Mason Graham
#5 Will Johnson
#19 Colston Loveland (3 spots ahead of Shedeur Sanders)
I was told that Shedeur Sanders will be a top 5 pick?
And the guy that said it was super mature about it!
How much will Colorado football be in the news this season? Yes, they're in the Big 12 now.
They have five "Way too early" Top 25 teams on the schedule:
- host Kansas State (20)
- at Arizona (11 - which will look different)
- host Utah (10)
- at Kansas (22)
- host Oklahoma State (17)
I'm sure there will be talk about the Buffs record this season - but, I'll wait until later in the summer to comment. Until then, I'll just enjoy supporting the reigning National Champion Michigan Wolverines.
For what it’s worth, the ESPN mock that inspired this post does in fact have Shadeur at #5.
That's fine so long as there are 4 Michigan men ahead of him.

Here is another from NBC Sports: https://www.nbcsports.com/fantasy/football/news/2025-way-too-early-nfl-mock-draft
NBC has Johnson at 5, Graham at #8, Grant at 24
These three seem to be early consensus first round picks
Happy for JJ and the rest of the players drafted but man had JJ and couple oline guys come back we would have definitely been preseason#1
That would have been very interesting. However - and with all due respect - I still think the press would have had the Buckeyes with their "best roster money can buy" or Georgia - as the #1 team in the country.
I'm not saying that Michigan with JJ and a few key early entries (staying another year) wouldn't deserve that ranking - but, the press / analysts are "who they are" - which isn't going to change.
Go Blue!
All we needed was JJ.
OL is going to be fine.
I'm pretty sure we needed Trente too...
JJ staying another year would've been awesome for all Michigan fans but would've probably triggered an intervention by medical authorities because it would signal he's gone clinicaly insane.
Nobody since Tyrone Wheatley has turned down the chance to go in the top 10 in the draft to return to school and if anyone wonders why he was the last just look at what happened to him his last year here and what that did to his draft stock.
Even if JJ came back knowing he'd be the #1 draft pick all that would mean is he would make 18MM more over four years than he'll make as the nineth pick but he's assured of going to a really crappy team like the Titans instead of a fairly stocked roster like the Vikings. And for QBs the real money hits on the 2nd contract, not their first, so doing well those first few years is critical to cashing in.
We will have the best defense in college football by far and a serviceable offense. That formula for success worked in 97, I see no reason it cant again in 25.
"Nobody since Tyrone Wheatley has turned down the chance to go in the top 10 in the draft to return to school..."
You forgot about Andrew Luck. And I think the Penn State LT Olu Fashanu was projected top 10 last year and still came back. In 35 years of watching college football, those are the only three I recall. So yea obviously an extremely rare phenomenon.
John O'Korn, too.
I did forget about Luck, so let's just say for one that stays too late there's probably 5,000 that leave too early.
So which Colt QB who had their very promising career cut short by injury was better: Bert Jones or Andrew Luck?
A year ahead to that lucrative second contact is worth hell of a lot more than the 18M over four years.
Was Leinert a top 10 projection after his junior year?
JORDAN POOLE IS A FOOL FOR LEAVING EARLY - ALL OF MGOBLOG
"Looks at Jordan Poole's contract"
Uhh.....
He comes back and the best he can do is go undefeated and win a national championship
Minnesota? Fuuuuuuuk.
As many players as we had drafted this top level talent Junior class really made the roster complete.
NFL level players came back, we had a 1st round QB, add in the elite Junior class and Shazam.
It was just the perfect crescendo of high level talent, a 1st round QB, still-NFL-caliber guys up and down the roster and plenty of very elderly statesmen (thanks COVID) who stuck around and thus had the reps to run everything to perfection.
Its a fucking mock a year out in which half of the first rounders wont even be in the first round.
Graham looks like a steal at #8.
Mocks all over the place have Johnson and Graham in the top ten (or, at worst, just outside of it for Graham--hilariously, the mock I read that placed him there dinged him for "lack of production," which is a nice way of saying that they haven't actually watched Michigan's defense play much without saying it directly) with Loveland and Grant both featuring prominently.
We're going to be talking about these guys for generations, and amazed that they were on the same team together. Graham might be the best DT to ever play at Michigan, and Johnson... isn't, but he's getting slated for the top five on the regular, and that's really impressive.
Did the Chargers win the Super Bowl and that's why Harbaugh couldn't draft any of these guys?
Wait...KC is in the AFC like LAC. So if KC is #31 then LAC has to be before that.
Maybe the Chargers traded their pick for Zinter?
They have the Chargers taking WR Tetairoa McMillan from 'Zona at 16.
Hats off to Moore , the staff and everyone involved keeping 4!!! projected first rounders around!
Wouldn't be surprised if Grant gets picked over Graham, but they will both be awesome this year.
Here’s my “best guess”. For Michigan players being drafted in 2025
(No order)
W Johnson , Graham , Loveland, Grant , Rod Moore, Derrick Moore, Isaiah Stewart, Donovan,M Paige, Quinton , Hausman, Barsham ,.. this is 12 guys without adding any OL or the best punter in college football The cupboard isn’t as bare as some hoped it would be …..
They are forgetting The Don, who is going to end up the season as a Heisman candidate.
I've also seen Moore show up in the 1st in some mocks
NBCsports has a mock draft with:
- 5 Will Johnson to Panthers
- 8 - Mason Graham to Minnesota
- 24 - Kenneth Grant to the packers.
They also have 5 OSU players going in the first round at 14 (DT, Williams), 17 (DE, Sawyer), 18 (CB, Burke), 21 (WR, Egbuka), 28 (DE, Tuimoloau). 3 on DL and 1 at CB might mean they're pretty good. Two DEs from Penn State in the first round as well. That's 7 DL from the big ten in the first round, which is nuts.
Sawyer and Tuimoloau will have to improve by a lot. They are not NFL 1st round talent as of now. Chop Robinson who is miles ahead of both of them went 21st.
