I have hated the Vikings ever since the 70's, when they were constantly beating the Lions behind Fran Tarkenton and Chuck Foreman. So the idea of JJ wearing those stupid purple jerseys makes me ill. Still, it's JJ. So I will hope that he plays well on an otherwise shitty Vikings team, and when his contract is up, he takes a free-agent deal somewhere outside the NFC North.

I realize the likelihood of this outcome is questionable, but it's the best I can do. I hate Minnesota that much. (And don't even get me started on the '87 Twins.)

Nope.

Because even when they aren't playing the Lions - the Vikings winning is bad for the Lions, and the Vikings losing is good for the Lions.

If he had gone somewhere outside the division - I'd say "Good luck, except when you play the Lions"... since he is in the division it's "Hope you lose every game ever".

Congrats JJ! Thank you for always believing in the process and in Michigan.  Forever grateful for the Natty.  I really believe we don’t win it without you.  Kill it in the pros. The Vikings are extremely lucky.

Think he needs to sit and learn for a year or two. But Minnesota is a good situation for him.

Lions are finally good and the rest of the division looks like they're loading up too lol

Very happy for JJ, and I'm glad he did not end up with the Pats or Jets. I do not think I could take rooting for another UM QB on the Patriots for a decade or more, and the Jets are a sh*tshow, so that's a good escape. My Giants got a nice WR but they really need an O-line. 2nd favorite team is in Detroit thanks to UM, but I never hated the Vikes.

And they did it without a [big] trade, so they'll have more resources available.  I'm surprised the Giants didn't move on from their QB-superfund-site, but clearly they didn't have JJ in the same group as the top three QBs.

I guess the Lions need to draft Chop Robinson and a DB so they don't keep hearing "McCarthy to Jefferson - touchdown!" :</

I'll hate rooting against him (and Hutchinson) in the division every year, but it's an ideal landing spot.  They have real weapons and are a much better put together franchise than, say, the Bears or the Football Team.

JJ is going to the most “complete” NFL team that needed a QB

Decent OL, OK defense, great WRs and TE, solid RBs … he can win right away, and win a lot

Vikings just traded up again to take Dallas Turner. JJ will be set-up for success over his entire rookie contract. He’ll win the starting job fairly quickly and should be succesful in Minnesota. I worried about him going a few other places, but with the way the draft fell I believe he’ll have the best career. Daniels and Maye are both doomed. I truly believe Williams will be mediocre because he’s not going to deal with losing well. Penix could carve out a solid career in Atlanta. Nix could be solid but the Broncos have very poor resources over the next few years and a very bad team as-is.

Sucks to see JJ in the same division with the Lions, but probably a good landing spot for him.  The Vikings have some talent around him.  Hope to see him emerge as the best QB in this draft, except twice a year when they face the Lions.

All the emotions right now...

1.) Happy as hell for JJ. This is the absolute best team he could have landed with. Weapons galore and a GREAT coach.

2.) Fucking pissed as a Lions fan. Minny is having a hell of a draft.

3.) Happy as hell as a sport card collector. I'm snatching up as many JJ rookie cards as I can. I truly believe he's going to be a great NFL QB.
