We have one SCHOLARSHIP open, two if Jace leaves or goes to being a walk-on.

We have 3 "spots" open. 1 scholarship and 2 walk-on.

If Jace becomes a walk-on, it flips. We have 2 scholarships and 1 walk-on spot open.

Personally, I'd leave Jace on scholarship because you get it back next year when he leaves.

We don't have any minutes left and you're not going to find a transfer who is willing to play 0 minutes unless it's garbage time.

I'd leave Jace and aim to find a freshman C or PF who can redshirt next year, then back-up Wolf or Johnson in 2025.

Then find a couple of walk-ons and that's 15.

12 we have now + scholarship freshman post player + 2 walk-ons.

I thought he finally found his footing last year.  I thought when he committed he was going to be around for 4 years and be a Charles Barkley like player.  I was incorrect.

Seems like his game would have fit May's style well.  Given the timing of his departure, I suspect May did not feel the same way.

Bit of a vindication for him, seems like. We should wish him well. People who say that a young man who did his best in a Michigan uni for three years aren't 'Michigan material,' fuck 'em, honestly. TWill--a good man who lived and suffered through it--will be remembered.

Suited up back in the day, but the point is they are ripping on a young kid who played his heart out for Michigan and actually shot 40% from 3 point and was pretty decent for us last year.  He wasnt some scrub who sucked. I am sticking up for the kid from some guy on his computer ripping on a now former Michigan player.   Just dont know why fans come on here to rip forme players for Michigan. Say a former player was convicted for rape or murder then have at it as I will most likely join in but TW seems like a good kid who did nothing but try his best at Michigan.

Wasn't sure I can't tell who responds to who after so many responses and more responses. Still it gets old all these so called fans ripping on a young kid for doing what they or their family thinks is best for them as they dont know anything that goes on behind closed doors. Even some of us thay know alot that goes on we still dont know everything on every person as some stuff is kept private and not meant foe the public to hear. All those who keep supporting our kids and former kids a big thumbs up.

General Comment: I realize I'm on the older side but the comments following the departures of Semaj, Terrance, George, etc. plus Jace's death watch bother me.

Agreed, this is a sports blog but damn, these kids met the athletic and academic requirements to attend one of the elite universities in the world. Wish them well and unlimited success in the future.

Complete agreement from a fellow old man. Last year's basketball team was a shitshow on the floor, but the kids in the program bear almost none of the responsibility for that. TWill chose Michigan, played hard, did what was asked of him. It's the program's responsibility to put these kids in a position to succeed. They failed; he didn't.

It's a fine line.

We're naturally going to be critical or lionize players/plays due to our fandom--I don't think that can be helped in sports.  But, I agree with this poster's sentiment.  It's one thing to lament poor performance in the moment (staying away from ad hominem attacks, mind you) because these kids will need to learn to deal with criticism anyway.  But, it's another thing to shower these youngsters with insults on the way out the door.  Or to boo them in their home stadium (cringe).  Or to go out of one's way to express that to them on social media (very cringe).  It's typically a bad look to the poster in retrospect, and definitely a bad look in the eyes of student-athletes, their parents, and future recruits.

A lot of it is in how an idea is conveyed and whether it's constructive (or funny in the case of "GWIII crossing the Delaware again") and focused on the quality of play or on the behavior rather than on the individual.

The old adage "if you don't have anything nice to say, then don't say anything at all" is a surprisingly useful tool in many life situations.

All of that said: FIRE BORGES!!

Good luck to Terrence except when he plays the Good Guys.   Agree Musselman is a good coach and the conference will be tough next year.  That said, Coach May has been doing well in recruiting and in the transfer portal.
