Was the starting LT on the UCLA line last year, was being moved around all spring with addition of transfers along the line. Has experience starting, could be someone to kick the tires on if the RT spot is still a sore spot for the staff with P5 experience.

Was former 3 ⭐️, is the son of former NFL lineman John Fina, is 6’5” at 300lbs so he’s more guard shaped than tackle (which may explain his struggles holding up left side) with two years left in eligibility. However this staff seems to recruit transfers they are very familiar with or recruited while in HS and he was a West Coast kid with no ties to UM outside of new conference foe UCLA so doubt he’s a take but is someone to consider.

I mean this as no personal disrespect and hope he has a great career, but he is literally one of the worst tackles in the country.

The thing about transfer portal targets from lower leagues is that there's typically not a lot out there when it comes to highlight films, etc. Even finding good film of Josh Wallace was a little difficult and he was at UMass, an FCS school.

I think Suggs can be a useful piece like Cam Goode, someone who's like your fifth or sixth defensive tackle. With Grant, Graham, Benny, and Pierce, I think Michigan has a solid top four if they can stay healthy.

Suggs has gotten 37+ offers from D1 schools already, so it sounds like wherever he goes he should be a lot better than Cam Goode.  Not basing that on any film, but the national interest tells you he's a starter-quality DT at many schools not named Michigan.

Okay, so which of those guys is he going to pass up? Grant, Graham, Benny, or Pierce? Certainly not Grant or Graham, and Benny (+14) and Pierce (+18) are both significantly heavier. Is Michigan going to play a 282 lb. Suggs as the #2 nose tackle ahead of Pierce?

Obviously, if Benny is still hurt, then Suggs could be in the two-deep.

I never said he is going to pass anyone up at Michigan.  Not sure where you're getting that from?  I specifically said he could be starter quality at any school NOT NAMED MICHIGAN.

I don't know how to put it any clearer than I did.  His offer list suggests that he's probably better than Goode, and might start at many other programs, but not at Michigan.  I hope that makes it clearer?

Can we please not make "Potential Portal Prospect" posts a trend? That would be such a slippery slope on this board of everyone posting random people in the portal that the staff isn't even pursuing

Potential prospect how?

You know or an insider has said that the coaches are interested or have talked to him?

Or you saw a guy was in the portal and you wanted to make a post about it?

First one is a good post. Second one...not so much

He graded out as one of the worst offensive tackles in the country last year. If he was a freshman we might be interested to see if he can be developed into a quality starter in a year or two, but as a one year grad transfer, there’s no way we will be interested. I doubt he could start on our scout team. If OSU pursues him, then they are desperate for a tackle.
